He has also held the position of Head of Construction Management, where he demonstrated strong strategic leadership and collaboration skills. With his hands-on experience as a process engineer metallurgist and international exposure across various sectors, Mekgwe has gained a profound understanding of business dynamics and innovative problem-solving approaches. He has recently joined the BT Industrial Group as Group Executive Projects and Technology, where he aims to leverage his multifaceted expertise to build and grow the pipe system and process plant practice.

Along the way his entrepreneurial spirit led him to found and successfully sell medical enterprises, culminating in his role as managing director at Ascendis Medical.
